Grease the Musical is set in Chicago in the 1950s, where at Rydell High, the two coolest gangs in the school are the Burger Palace Boys and the Pink Ladies. It's a new academic year and the school is buzzing about the things that really matter in the world - rock 'n' roll music and who's dating who. Sandy, recently transferred to Rydell, is shocked when her summer romance turns out to be Danny Zuko the leader of the Burger bums. Goody goody girls and cool guys just don't mix at Rydell, and soon their relationship is on rocky ground.

The guys and gals soon start to fill their time hanging out at the drive-in, shakin' at the high school hop, holding slumber parties and keeping away from Miss Lynch.
