In a small village we meet Mulan, the daughter of honourable old soldier Fa Zhou. When the Chinese army calls for a man from every family to fight against the Huns, Mulan does the unthinkable and secretly takes her father’s place on the front line - to protect his frail old age and to make her family proud of her.

We see villages destroyed, friendships made and broken, battles waged, and, most importantly, the progress of a young girl in a man’s world. Armed with quick thinking and a slightly irritating ancestral dragon for a guardian, Mulan attempts to help the Chinese Army overcome the threat of the Huns and hold up her family’s honour, whilst all the time trying to be a man!
