One of Kids' Gallery's primary aims is to encourage our students, staff, and friends to support those children in our local community who are less fortunate than the children who attend classes at our centres.

To this end, through the generous voluntary donation of extra time and work by our dedicated staff and other supporters, we have over the years been able to support many local charities.

We are proud to have been awarded the status of "Caring Company" by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, again in 2010. This award, first presented to us in 2005, is in recognition of our enduring efforts in caring for the community and commitment to corporate citizenship, and is thanks to the ongoing dedication and hard work of our staff, students, and their families, and the charities with which we work.

Organised by the Hong Kong Public Libraries of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department in association with Bring Me A Book Hong Kong, the annual popular large-scale family reading event Summer Reading Month 2011 starts from July 16. Various reading activities and exhibition were held in different public libraries. The Under Secretary for Home Affairs, Ms Florence Hui, the Board Governor of Bring Me A Book Hong Kong, Mrs Joanna Hotung, and renowned actress Ms Sandra Ng officiated at the launch ceremony.

Dance Circle and our singing student Lauren Ng were invited to perform in HKJDA Spring Fling event. This year’s theme is Carousel of Hope at the Shangri-La Hotel. They performed singing and dancing to a song  Carousel Waltz.

Kids' Gallery's Dance Circle was invited to perform at the 14th ACCA Charity Fun Day where they performed two dances, Don't stop believing and Bye bye blackbird.

A group of generous parents under the name of the Kids’ Gallery Booklovers Club were delighted to donate a bookcase full of stunning English and Chinese language storybooks to the Paediatric Ward of Queen Mary Hospital. Nurse Lee Kar Bik said that these books will brighten up the days of children who are staying in the ward while undergoing medical treatment.

Summer artworks donated to Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children (HKSPC)

As part of our summer workshops this year, students from our Creative Community Camp created artworks and donated them in person to HKSPC. These artworks will be used to decorate their centres around Hong Kong. Each student was presented with a certificate of appreciation.

Our talented students worked together with leading design house Salvatore Ferragamo in a unique and spectacular catwalk performance event at the Fringe Club. They brought to life Fiera, a children's book specially commissioned by Ferragamo to celebrate its 80th birthday celebrations worldwide.

Hooray for Hollywood! was the theme of this year's amazing Kids' Gallery Festival Week, featuring over 450 students in five productions – Star Factor 2007, Bugsy Malone, Lost in Hollywood, A Night at the Movies and Ballet Gala Night.

Kids' Gallery was pleased to be associated with the launch and book signing of The Little Angel Who Was Late for Tea by Ilyas Khan at Bookazine in Prince's Building. All proceeds from the sale of the book benefited the Hong Kong Juvenile Diabetes Association, one of the child-focused charities Kids' Gallery supports. Nury Vittachi joined in with a special reading from the book and entertained the many children and parents who attended.

We were delighted to be the recipients of the Public Spirited Trophy at the Matilda Sedan Chair Race on the Peak. The trophy recognised the team that provided the most entertainment to the public. Dressed in gorgeous Grease inspired outfits and running with a sedan chair disguised as a bubblegum pink Cadillac, our team made a huge impact on the day, entertaining other contestants and the public alike with their fun antics! Kids' Gallery also participated in the children's bazaar by organising a fabulous wall mural and arts and crafts table for the enjoyment of young and old. All proceeds raised were donated to the Matilda Sedan Chair Race Charities Fund that helps small local charities.
