and walk down to Coda Plaza (approx 50 metres).
Q.
What is the language of instruction? What
if my child can't speak English?
A.
English is the language of instruction for
all classes, except
Chinese
CultureArts. We aim to have an English speaking
teacher and a native speaker in each studio,
so if there are any problems with comprehension
the native speaker can explain to the student.
Q.
Why can't I/my helper/my whole family stay
in the studio with my child?
A.
One of the aspects about Kids' Gallery that
parents appreciate most is that we do not
overcrowd our classes. For this reason,
we cannot allow several people in the studio
at the same time. If every family did this
it would be very distracting for the children
and the teachers. However, you are welcome
to speak to your child's teacher after the
class and come in to see what your child
has done during the lesson.
Q.
Can you take care of my child in between
classes?
A.
Yes, we do have a room where your child
can stay in between classes which is supervised
by a member of our staff. Your child will
not be allowed however, to run around outside
this room. He will be collected from his
first class and taken to his second class
at the correct time.
Q.
What is your policy on eating and drinking
at Kids' Gallery?
A.
No eating or drinking is allowed in the
studios at Kids' Gallery. This policy is
to ensure that a child (either yours or
someone else's) is not offered something
that they may be allergic to. If your child
is thirsty the teacher can offer him/her
a drink of water, but we request your child
is sent to class with a fully belly!
In the ArtPlay®, Creative
Movement® and CreativePlay™ classes
a small snack and drink is offered to the
child however, a parent or caregiver is
always is attendance at this class to ensure
that the child can safely consume the snack.

Trial classes are available in time slots
that are not yet full with existing students.
A charge of one class, pro-rated to the
course cost will; be charged for each trial
class. This fee must be paid prior
to taking the class.

For the benefit of all children we have
a strict number of students per class. Most
children will continue with their class
term after term, and these students automatically
keep their position in the class. We cannot
enrol another child until someone leaves
and we do not know when this will be until
we receive notice from them.
If a class you have requested
your child to join is full, we will add
your child's name to the waitlist for that
class. At Kids' Gallery, first preference
is given to currently enrolled students,
second preference is given to the enrolled
student's siblings and third preference
is given to those who have been previously
enrolled. New students will be admitted
after the above preferences have been fulfilled.

According to company policies, each student
is allowed to use two make-up classes per
term. These classes are essentially classes
that are offered to "make-up"
for those missed due to illness or overseas
travel. The make-up class must be taken
within the current term and can not be carried
over.

We would be happy to supply your child with
a personal reference letter if he/she has
been enrolled at Kids' Gallery for a minimum
of three term or more (or six weeks of Summer
Workshops) and if there is no outstanding
amounts in your account. Since every letter
is personal to the child, we charge a nominal
administration fee of $100 for this service.
Our centre Manager asks the relevant teachers
to complete a detailed reference form for
the child and our Manager then prepares
the reference.
We require up
to four weeks to speak to the relevant
teachers and prepare the reference letter.
We shall call you when it is ready to be
collected.

Each student who participates in an open
class, or other special activity, will be
presented with a Kids' Gallery certificate
to treasure. The open class is often
the highlight of the term and allows children
to perform in a controlled, friendly and
supportive environment. The certificates
are recognition of their participation in
the class.

Many of the courses at Kids' Gallery have
been registered and trademarked. This means
the content of the courses is owned by
Kids'
Gallery International Limited. We request
that each parent/caregiver who wishes to
film or photograph any part of a class sign
a Copyright Agreement form.
By signing the
form we ask you:
To focus only
of your own child and not on other's children
Not to use the
images taken for financial or commercial
gain
Not to interrupt
the teaching of the class
Respect the proprietary
nature of all classes and not to infringe
on copyrights, registration marks and
trademarks.
Q.
How do I give notice that my child will
leave a class? Will my deposit be returned?
A.
We ask you to give 14 days written notice
(by fax, letter or email - not via the telephone)
, as specified in our policies, so that
we have time to inform someone who may be
on the waitlist that there will be a space
available in the class. We cannot always
get in touch with them straightaway. Also,
we have bought the materials and done our
planning in advance for the class and 14
days enables us to change these plans if
necessary. The deposit is returned to those
who gave the full 14 days written notice.

Our policy in case
of fire - We have a fire evacuation
procedure clearly posted in every studio
and administration room and all staff have
been trained in what to do in the event
of a fire. The building is very safe with
hose reels and sprinklers on every floor,
and we have our own fire extinguishers within
our premises.
Our
policy in case of an accident - Most
of our staff hold a current first aid certificate
and have been trained to handle minor injuries.
Where necessary, we will contact the parent
if they were not present to explain what
happened. For more serious injuries, the
parent will be informed immediately and
advice sought. The parent will be asked
about their preferred appropriate action.
In the unlikely event of severe injuries
we will call an ambulance and a member of
staff will accompany the child if the parent
can not be located.

Kids' Gallery employs professional cleaners
who work throughout the day keeping the
premises clean and tidy. All studios and
waiting areas are regularly cleaned and
sterilised, whilst pillows, props, costumes
etc are all regularly dry cleaned. We have
a regular spraying for pests during non-
teaching hours or at holiday times when
the centre is closed.
