About Us

In the Community

One of Kids' Gallery's primary aims is to encourage our students, staff and friends to support those children in our local community who are less fortunate than the children who attend classes at our centres.

To this end, through the generous voluntary donation of extra time and work by our dedicated staff and other supporters, we have over the years been able to support many local charities.

We are proud to have been awarded the status of "Caring Company" by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, again in 2006. This award, first presented to us in 2005, is in recognition of our enduring efforts in caring for the community and commitment to corporate citizenship, and is thanks to the ongoing dedication and hard work of our staff, students and their families, and the charities with which we work.

In the past, through our previous productions and exhibitions, we have been able to help the following children's charities:

September 2006

Kids' Gallery was pleased to be associated with the launch and book signing of The Little Angel Who Was Late for Tea by Ilyas Khan at Bookazine in Prince's Building on 16 September. All proceeds from the sale of the book benefited the Hong Kong Juvenile Diabetes Association, one of the child-focused charities Kids' Gallery supports. Nury Vittachi joined in with a special reading from the book and entertained the many children and parents who attended.

Other Activities

Through previous open days and exhibitions, Kids' Gallery has supported Treats, the Hans Andersen Club and Camp Quality. We also actively support a number of local Hong Kong schools in their fund raising efforts and we aid organisations such as the Children's Cancer Foundation with donations of paint products.

In November 2003, we were delighted to be the recipients of the Public Spirited Trophy at the Matilda Sedan Chair Race on the Peak. The trophy recognised the team that provided the most entertainment to the public. Dressed in gorgeous Grease inspired outfits and running with a sedan chair disguised as a bubblegum pink Cadillac, our team made a huge impact on the day, entertaining other contestants and the public alike with their fun antics! Kids' Gallery also participated in the children's bazaar by organising a fabulous wall mural and arts and crafts table for the enjoyment of young and old. All proceeds raised were donated to the Matilda Sedan Chair Race Charities Fund that helps small local charities.
