This year is the international year of astronomy and Visual Arts students will have the opportunity to create a fantastic space-themed art exhibition in celebration. Alien planets, glowing stars, and distant galaxies will float upon a shimmering 3-D backdrop. Using a variety of media, including sketching, painting, sculpture, and model makng, students will design and construct a series of model spacecraft which will fly above the backdrop among space cities, creatures, rockets and, of course, earth. This inspiring public exhibition also celebrates the longest total solar eclipse of our lifetimes which passes through the heart of China on 22 July. Space Age is sure to be a summer event of galactic proportions!
