Special Summer Workshops
with Roseanne Thong

Children's author, Roseanne Thong, will be coming from America to deliver some very special classes especially for lucky Kids' Gallery students. Having written some 13 children's books, five of which have received awards, Roseanne will inspire students with an array of inspirational workshops.
 
Literature Camp (8 - 14 years)
Learn, laugh, and love literature with children's book author Roseanne Thong. Where do ideas come from? How are they developed? How do you get started? Using Asian-themed literature and vibrant slide presentations based on her 10-year authoring experience, Roseanne focuses on the creative process of authoring and illustrating. She leads students through the step-by-step process of developing ideas, expanding details, and producing creative products.
 
Storytelling with Roseanne Thong (4 - 7 years)
Roseanne helps develop a child's love for literature, while reading from her Asian-themed children's books, focusing on understanding, vocabulary, and developing creative thought. She ends each hour with a hands-on art or creative activity.
 
Poetry Jam (8 - 14 years)
Experience various types of children's prose and poetry, with an emphasis on Hong Kong themes. Using structured models as guides, children learn to create a variety of genres and styles, and produce their own unqiue work. The focus is on fun, while developing creative thought processes.
 
Enhance your Creativity (6 - 12 years)
What colour is noise? What is the smell of homework? What do frogs do for fun? Using literature as a guide, students learn how to enhance creativity, while expanding vocabulary, and developing ideas and self-expression. Each day includes a variety of thinking, writing, art, and expressive activities.
