A.
Children will learn and practise specific
art skills related to the course they
attend. They will also learn important
problem-solving and communication skills
as they draw, paint, build, sing, dance
and have fun!
Q.
Must my child commit to a whole year
of classes?
A.
No, each child signs up for an 8-week term
or may join partway through a term if there
is class availability. We ask that you
inform us in writing 2
weeks before the end of each term if you
do not
plan
to enrol your child in the following term.
This is so that we may inform a child on
the waitlist of the vacancy.
A.
For the benefit of all children we have
a strict number of students per class.
Most children will continue with their
class term after term, and these students
have priority to keep their position in
the class. We cannot enrol another child
until someone leaves and we do not know
when this will be until we receive notice
from them.
If a class is full, we will
add your child's name to the waitlist for
that class. At Kids' Gallery, first preference
is given to currently enrolled students,
second preference is given to the enrolled
student's siblings and third preference
is given to those who have been previously
enrolled. New students will be admitted
after the above preferences have been fulfilled.
Q.
What if my child is unable to attend
a class due to illness or travel?
A.
You may request a make-up class within
the term by filling in the Make-up Class
Request Form and handing it back to us.
Each student is allowed two make-up classes
per term. The make-up class must be taken
within the current term and can not be
carried over.
Q.
What is the language of instruction?
What if my child can’t understand
English?
A.
English is the language of instruction
for all classes. We also have a Mandarin
speaker on the premises at all times, so
if there are any problems with comprehension,
he/she can explain to the student.
Q.
Why can’t I/my helper/the whole
family stay in the studio with my child?
A.
Apart from ArtPlay and CreativePlay classes,
we encourage students to attend classes
on their own. Parents appreciate that we
do not overcrowd our classes. Therefore,
we cannot allow several people in the studio
at the same time. However, you are welcome
to speak to your child's teacher after
the class and come in to see what your
child has done during the lesson.
Q.
What is your policy on eating and drinking
at Kids’ Gallery?
A.
No eating or drinking is allowed in the
studios at Kids' Gallery. This policy is
to ensure that a child (either yours or
someone else's) is not offered something
that they may be allergic to. If your child
is thirsty the teacher can offer a drink
of water, but we request your child is
sent to class with a full belly!
In the ArtPlay
and CreativePlay classes, a small snack
and drink is offered to the child. However,
a parent or caregiver is always in attendance
at this class to ensure that the child
can safely consume the snack.
A.
Many of the courses at Kids' Gallery have
been registered and trademarked. This means
the content of the courses is owned by
Kids' Gallery International Limited. We
request that each parent/caregiver who
wishes to film or photograph any part of
a class sign a Copyright Agreement form.
Q.
How do I give notice that my child will
leave
a class?
A.
Please inform us in writing 2 weeks before
the end of term if you do not plan to enrol
your
child in the following term. This is so
that we may inform a child on the waitlist
of the vacancy.
