Part of the Picasso Portfolio this summer, students will apply the genius artist's style and techniques of his Blue Period to create a 2D pop-up art project of a toy instrument. Complete all five workshops of the Picasso Portfolio and earn a certificate of completion.

When Pablo Picasso lost a dear friend in 1901, he turned his sadness into art by diving into the colour blue. His famed Blue Period was the result of time. In this class, we will definitely not drive our students into sadness! Instead, we will guide them through a 2D pop-up art project that merges Picasso’s techniques with modern collage. Students will leave our workshop with their own toy instrument and an appreciation for tones, shades, and the assembly of disparate pieces to craft an artistic whole.
